About this Event

Do you ever wonder if there are hidden messages within the experiences of your night-time dreaming? Do you ever feel a bit ‘stuck’ like there is something you need to change in your life, but are not exactly sure what it is or how you can change it? Welcome to ‘The Dreamer’s Breath’

The Dreamer’s Breath is a unique six week exploration into the transformative power of working with the power of your breath and the healing wisdom of exploring the language of your dreams.

Dreamwork

In many indigenous cultures, understanding the language and power of the dreamtime, plays an important role in forming a deeper connection with both the everydayness of life, and, also the deeper connection with the Soul’s journey, through creating a conscious dialogue with the unconscious mind. We will take inspiration from Dream Yoga. Shamanic Practice and other Dreaming traditions, to help us remember who we truly are when we begin to work with the languages of dreaming and breathing.

As we learn to come into right relationship with the spiritual, mental and emotional and physical aspects of the dreaming self, then so too, are we able to deepen our connection with community and the natural world as part of aligning with the best version of ourselves in the everyday ‘waking dream’ of life, embracing both the light and the shadow aspects of ourselves  as part of our healing journey.

Breathwork

Conscious Connected Breathwork is a dynamic way of working with the breath as a practice for self-healing and empowerment. In particular , it can serve as a powerful way to express and re-calibrate unresolved trauma, which may have been stored in the body for some time and serve as a safe space for emotional release and healing as part of a wider integration process within the body’s nervous system.

It serves as a powerful modality for transformation  and  positive inspiration, enabling the breather to take some breathing space for something new  to occur. When Conscious Connected Breathwork is practiced over a series of sessions, part of the healing process may be that unconscious memories of traumatic events, which have been stored in the body, may rise to the surface, in order to be acknowledged, released and subsequently integrated into the fabric of life, which can be viewed through the lens of a more conscious awareness.

As we embark upon this unique journey of ‘The Dreamer’s Breath’ we take wisdom from Both the Yogic and Shamanic Traditions, combining scientific perspectives with the intuitive language of the bodymind and soul.

What you will need

A Space for Breathing

Make sure the space is comfortable, (warm or cool, well ventilated, private space, with no one else around as  it is our intention to co-create a safe container of confidential space.)

  1. A yoga mat or quilt on the floor is generally good,  Or a comfortable chair, but make sure your spine and rib cage are free to move and breathe

  2. A blanket for comfort if you need one

  3. A water bottle

  4. Something to cover your eyes either an eye mask or a scarf etc

  5. Headphones are advisable, particularly for the breathwork as we breathe to music, and it helps to shut out any external noise and journey inwards.

Space for Creating

Space to get a little messy if you are using paints or pastels etc. (This is optional), you can just use coloured pencils or coloured pens if you want to, but if you do use paints maybe put a cloth down beneath the area you will be working on either on a table or  on the floor. (If on the floor make sure the surface is hard or use a board underneath)

A Dream Journal  and/or Sketch book or Notebook

If you prefer to work a little bigger then some larger cartridge paper / or some A4 plain paper, you could start a Dream File using an A4 ring binder, which is handy if you want to record your dream on your phone as you wake up, then later either type up your dream or write it up, so that you can work with its content and even go back to it at a later date and work with it some more.

 Suggested Art materials

Your materials can be as simple or varied as you like,  usually you can pick up some cheap art supplies such as

  • coloured  fibre tipped pens / pencils / crayons or pastels

  • some paints / or inks, (water based tend to dry quicker, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, its for working quickly and spontaneously as part of the dream process, so don’t worry too much,  at the very least a pen or pencil will do, but its always could to have some colour to add into the feel of the dreamwork

  • A Dream Journal and/or Sketch book or Notebook

If you prefer to work a little bigger then some larger cartridge paper / or some A4 plain paper, you could start a Dream File using an A4 ring binder, which is handy if you want to record your dream on your phone as you wake up, then later either type up your dream or write it up, so that you can work with its content and even go back to it at a later date and work with it some more.
